FREE educational software. Letter Sounds - Short Vowels teaches children how combine letters and the sounds they represent to make words. Children choose the first two letters that blend to form the sounds at the beginnings of words.
The program says the word to make sure the correct word is associated with the picture shown, and to reinforce the correct sound produced by the combined letters. The child hears the word, spells it out and sees a picture representing the word, to make sure they are learned together.

I have a 5th grader that has trouble reading even these words. I am hoping this will make it a little more fun to read. Do you have any CVC words with long vowels? Hi Lindsay! By definition, CVC words are consonant-short vowel-consonant. Thank you so much for all of these wonderful resources!
