Pfmodnt driver
The 5. If there is any point to the 8. If there is any other driver pack that uses the drivers and doesn't require disabling driver signing or whatever, I'd like to know. As for OpenAL, well we're all better off using openalsoft, and only Alchemy is really useful. Just don't install 5. I had to download the updated version from PCGW. I believe 8. If you have problems with the 8. He hasn't included the windows 10 updated driver.
If anyone knows how to reach this guy, he should be notified the drivers need to be updated to the version, and re-release the pack. The x-fi headphone mode has always had questionable audio quality though, as whatever processing it does ruins the clarity to sound like some bit mp3. Forums New posts Search forums. Not bad for a card that shows inferior benchmarks on paper! In fact, I find the press release quoted by the above poster interesting. The water is rendered much nicer. There are lighting effects that are totally missing when you play on an nVidia, that look wonderful on the ATI. Having the two side-by-side for direct comparison was very interesting! I do feel that this problem will get sorted eventually, but I decided it was not worth the frustration.
After all we paid good money for a card on the premise that it would be the best thing for EQ2. Well, it isn't. Good luck guys! I'm sticking with ATI from now on, regardless of what the game developer tells me.
At least if they are aware of the problem they should comment it, saying contacts have been taken and they are working on it, or saying they are not able to identify the problem It would be a good idea to make a small response that would tell the users what they can expect.
Dont make ads saying you are working together! That s not correct. I am sure they would find a lot of people to provide them with their own experience. Well here I am.
When I first installed EQ2 i set the ingame settings to "balanced" thinking that would be a good starting point and that I could up settings from there. So i visted the EQ2 forums and the billion posts by people experiencing similar problems. I followed the Optimize guid posted there which helped things some but didnt fix it.
It was not until I turned on AA by turning on that flag in the EQ2 cfg file and within the video drivers. Oddly enough everything started working great Hell, I was even able to max out some settings i. I do still notice the "performance decay over time" which i seriously doubt is a NVIDA issue but rather a memory leak of some sort on the EQ2 client. After about hours of playing things start to slow down, HD starts thrashing and FPS goes down the toilet.
FPS is between in cities to in the open. I would really like to understand why it is that turning on AA seemed to fix so much for me.
As far as I'm concerned this is a gross example of falsely advertising products. All over Everquest2 they plastered Nvidia's name yet if you actually use an Nvidia your in for a disappointment. The difference is revolting. The game runs so much slower and chopper than it did before on a much less powerful video card. I'd be inclined to start messing around with a thousand and one settings, but considering the amount of people that are having this problem I'm not even going to bother.
I'm so disappointed in Nvidia right now, they haven't even come out to say their even looking at the problem. Does anyone have any lawyer friends? I'm feeling seriously ripped off. Later on the thread he added that SOE is still looking on their own but I that that as Damage Control as the first post made it seem like SOE did not have a clue : What makes this inexcusable is that they knew about this problem before release but said nothing, apparently did nothing and they knew full well that their line of BS about Nvidia giving advanced versions of their new cards and drivers to SOE so they could test them with EQ2 was going to get people to buy cards that did not work right with their game.
Of course, the blurriness from compression makes it almost impossible to tell anything from the video anyhow. B I have all settings on max except for foliage displacement is turned off and I have max high detail chars set to 0. None of this surprises me really, its SOE for cryin out loud, when have they ever been on the ball about anything. Planetside and SWG are perfect examples.
PS runs like dog doodoo on anything but the most beastly of systems when you turn it up, and even then its not the greatest, and still looks like a 4 year old game. SWG is basicly the same, and they have just now got to something cool in that game, Jump To Light Speed, something that should have been in from the start.
SOE is slower then a rusted out Pinto with a missfire on getting around to fixing things that are blatent misscues. This will be a problem for a while, sucks cuzz I'm looking forward to playing the game soon, but thems the breaks.
To me it looks like it could be server lag or something similar but who knows. By no means does that render the game unplayable. The only time I really have any slowdown is when I'm in a 6 man group and somebody casts that spell with the shields coming out of dirt. Or the first second I enter a heavly populated city area with a lot going on as far as buildings and characters but afterwards FPS smooth out nicely. I play the game x High Quality with a few model details turned up higher with 8X anisotropic filtering and everything seems pretty smooth to me.
If you have the User Account Control UAC enabled, you will be asked for authorization prior to the command prompt opening. You may simply need to press the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password etc. A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin'. If any files require replacing SFC will replace them.
You may be asked to insert your XP CD for this process to continue. If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations".
After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check. Thank you and Regards. Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think. Was this reply helpful? Yes No.
